A meeting of Tourism authorities of Latin American countries with the top executives of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), began on Tuesday December 11 at the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK), in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina , at the UNWTO Tourism Tech Adventure Forum, the first meeting of the Americas dedicated to tourism innovation that brings together all stakeholders of the ecosystem with the highest authorities of tourism in the region to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and especially, investment in the tourism.

The Forum, organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Tourism Government Secretariat of the Argentine Republic, constitutes an unprecedented platform for tourism entrepreneurship and innovation that will create synergies among the different actors, exchange successful cases and incentivize the culture in venture capital investment.

In the same way, this space will provide solutions to challenges related to digital transformation as a source of employment generation, competitiveness and sustainable development of the sector.

The meeting began on Tuesday 11 with a training or bootcamp for startups and a meeting of Tourism authorities of the Americas, which addressed the issue of innovation and tourism entrepreneurship at the hands of IE Business School. Representatives from Chile, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bahamas and Nicaragua, as well as high authorities of the UNWTO, participated in the event.

Open forum

A forum open to the public will take place on Wednesday the 12th, which will include, among others, the presence of innovation leaders, top-level startups, investors and relevant actors in the global innovation and digital transformation ecosystem.

Within the framework of the forum there will also be a special debate where policymakers and investors will talk about the guiding principles of public investment policies and also discuss the challenges and opportunities for tourism investment in the Americas.
